As sections of this house were under a heritage listing, partial removal of the structure was a very delicate procedure.

The roof finishes were a combination of salvaged existing roof slates plus newly matched Spanish "Cupa" and Zink sheeting. The rear excavation created space for a games room, wine cellar and store room, plus tank room with two rainwater tanks of 31,000 litre capacity. These dedicated water tanks service the newly landscaped grounds which were designed to creatively combine with the established gardens.

The design, developed by Bruce Willoughby marries the old with the new without compromising the original historic character of the residence and gardens.
